Nahit “Atif” Oral, 49, Community Volunteer Fire Department, died in the line of duty due to a medical event. Wanting to reflect his love and benevolence for people, he became a firefighter and EMT after moving to Texas in 2016. Atif was born in Pazar, Turkey then moved to New York where he met his wife Marie Anisca-Oral, an Iraqi Army veteran. A recipient of the Academic Excellence Award for Fire Academy 2020-Alpha, he oved being a firefighter. With his enduring commitment to the profession, Atif touched the lives of many people.
