Anthony “Tony” Simpson, 43, American Medical Response, died in the line of duty in the 2023 Maui wildfire. Born in Washington DC, he lived in many places before moving to Maui in 2006. Prior to living in Maui, Tony completed CPR and first aid training, which he taught while also working at a coffee shop. His journey serving others through EMS began when he became an EMT and worked in Oahu before returning home to Maui to work for AMR. Always friendly and welcoming, he befriended and helped those in the homeless community. A beloved son and brother, Anthony was the kind of person that people were drawn to and was always up for everything.
