Stephen “Skip” Skipton, 41, University EMS and City of Camden, died in the line of duty due to World Trade Center Illness. Steve’s EMS journey, filled with a passion to help others, began when he was a teenager serving as a junior firefighter. He volunteered at Bellmawr Park, becoming Chief in his twenties. He worked as an EMT for 17 years, including responding to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Steve was an EMS instructor and an avid fire photographer contributing to countless training slides and videos. Steve enjoyed bike riding, visiting the beach and spending time with family. Known for his sense of humor, strength and commitment, his family remembers him as an unselfish and devoted husband and father.
