Leonard Coney, 41, Shreveport Fire Department, died in the line of duty due to COVID. Serving the community for nearly 14 years, he joined the Shreveport Fire Department in August of 2007 and was assigned to Medic 5 at Fire Station No. 5, C Shift. Beloved by his family, he is described as having a heart of gold, was compassionate, kind, and gentle. Referred to as “Sweet Tones of Cones,” by his fellow firefighters, his soft and calming voice put his patients at ease.
