Samuel “Adam” Russell, 43, Life Saver, died in the line of duty in an air medical accident. Dedicating his entire short life to helping others, he began his career with the Hanover Volunteer FD, and as soon as he was old enough to join the Alexander City Fire Department, he did. Adam worked exclusively in service to others as a firefighter, paramedic, and registered nurse. With unwavering devotion, he was a blessing to so many close friends who became family. His family knew they could always depend on him. The faith that was the foundation of his life played out through the prayers he shared with his crew before each flight. He lived and died a hero.
